SQUARE
MEATERS cattle were developed in the early 1990s specifically
to produce tender young beef for Australia’s premium domestic
market. The challenge had been to develop a fast-growing, early
maturing animal, with good muscling, that could meet the domestic
market with ease. This challenge was met with SQUARE MEATERS
which are a sub-type of the Murray Grey breed, subject to height
restrictions, but retain the docile temperament, muscling and
marbling characteristics of the Murray Greys. |

SQUARE MEATERS females can
be registered as Class A or Class B depending upon their measurement
at 12 months of age: Class A - 100-110 cm at top of shoulder;
